Mom’s Chilli

Ground Beef 1 lb
Yellow Onion 1
Canned diced tomatoes 1 medium can
Canned pork and molasses brown beans 1 medium can
Canned kidney beans 1 medium can
Chili powder to taste


  1. Dice the onion into medium-small pieces
  2. Brown the ground beef and onion together, breaking up the ground beef as desired
  3. Add the canned tomatoes, brown beans, and kidney beans
  4. Add the chili powder (if concerned about spice level, start with a small amount, you can always add more)
  5. Turn the heat to low / very low
  6. Thoroughly mix and stir the pot
  7. Simmer for at least half an hour, ideally a couple of hours on very low
